Glass Bead Jewellery
It is only when I have to consider my jewellery designs and when I visit bead fairs, that I realise just how many glass beads there are to choose from. To name a few, there are glass pearls, venetian/murano glass, lampwork beads, cane glass, opaline glass, and crystal (Czech and Swarovski). I love to work with glass that includes numerous colours and millefiori (a kind of murano glass) is my favorite. These create such fun glass necklaces that seem to appeal to all ages. I have also recently made necklaces with cane glass that is made from thin rods of drawn glass. These are such elegant and beautiful glass beads and create classy necklaces. Though I love to work with freshwater pearls, I also find that the imitation glass pearls fit the bill for those looking for inexpensive fashion jewellery. Glass pearls are shinier than the real thing, and with time their surfaces are prone to errosion.
I continue to look for beautiful glass beads to create stunning jewellery.
